Cholupice former village attached to Prague in the fifties. In 1945 there was no bus connection and the electricity came a year later. Workers walked on the dusty zigzag road down to the factories in Modřany by foot . According the population census in january 3, 1946 there were in Cholupice 80 houses, with 114 flats, and 107 families. Cholupice became lately famous manily because of the Czech maverick philosopher and writer Ladislav Klíma (22. 8. 1878 Domažlice 19. 4. 1928 Praha). While living here temporary In 1909 he experienced an essential ispiration, and he became sure, that he was a “divine personality”, a story described in a novel Cholupicky Day.
